Freedom o(r) Speech European Premiere

Red Note join forces with two European ensembles, I Solisti del Vento from Belgium and Norway's Song Circus for the World Premiere of Freedom o(r) Speech.

Three European ensembles, Red Note (Scotland), I Solisti del Vento (Belgium) and Song Circus (Norway), have joined forces in this co-production which premieres in Aberdeen before touring to Belgium and the Netherlands. The programme presents Louis Andriessen’s seminal work De Staat (The Republic) alongside Mauricio Kagel’s Der Tribun (The Tribune), and a new work commissioned from Scottish-based composer (and sound Festival’s newly-appointed Composer-in-Residence) John de Simone to specifically sit alongside De Staat.

*Commissioned by sound Festival and Red Note Ensemble with support of the Britten Pears Foundation, Aberdeen City Council’s Made in Aberdeen programme and soundbytes investors
