Sounding Brass – BRASS Festival, Durham

Red Note presents an evening of compositions spanning 500 years including works by Gabrieli, Dowland, Britten, Harvey and Birtwistle.

BRASS runs from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 July 2015 across Durham county and Durham’s stunning city centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

For the first time Classical Music will be celebrated in a strand of concerts all over four packed days. Great musicians from around the UK and the world will come together to celebrate everything Brass – from traditional brass music and swing bands to brass street music from Romania to Portugal and the best in contemporary brass sounds.

Taking place in the historic surroundings of Durham Town Hall, Red Note’s Sounding Brass is an evening of established classics and new compositions spanning 500 years including works by Gabrieli, Dowland, Britten, Harvey and Birtwistle.
