Red Note Ensemble at soundfestival 2026

Red Note Ensemble present an evening of new music showcasing works composed by Bekah Simms, a collaboration with French collective Les Harmoniques du Néon and two news works by Gillian Walker and Kate Sagovsky.

The programme features Embryonic, a powerful new work by acclaimed Canadian composer Bekah Simms, commissioned by Nouvel Ensemble Moderne and Red Note Ensemble. In Embryonic, Simms revisits fragments, gestures and sonic memories from her earlier works, transforming them into a compelling new piece for chamber orchestra.

French collective Les Harmoniques du Néon, present La Langue du Perroquet (The Parrot’s Tongue), which explores language as sound, imitation and distortion through voice, text and performance.

The programme will also feature world premieres of two new works by Gillian Walker and Kate Sagovsky in collaboration with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
