SUMMARY:OPEN CALL - Northern Connection
DESCRIPTION:Scotland\, Finland and Norway are joining together in partnership to commission and premiere three new works. Each country will be represented by a composer\, an ensemble and a contemporary music festival. \nSCOTLAND: Scottish Music Centre/Sound Festival/Red Note Ensemble \nFINLAND: Music Finland/MusicaNova Festival/defunensemble \nNORWAY: Music Norway/Ultima Festival/Ensemble Temporum \nEach country’s selected commission will be performed by one of the ensembles at a festival in at least one of the partner countries\, and possibly more.  A jury of festival directors will select the three winning composers in late June/early July: the pieces will be composed in summer/autumn 2022 and pieces will be rehearsed from late 2022. \nScotland’s organisations are now looking to commission a Scottish* composer for this project.  \nKey dates: \nDeadline for submissions: 6pm\, Sunday 19th June 2022\nDecision: By Monday 11th July 2022 \nHow to apply: \nDownload the OPEN CALL document for full information on how to apply. \nYou can send your application using the online form link (CLICK HERE).  \nIf you have any issues with the online form please contact Kadri at admin@sound-scotland.co.uk \nSupport with making your application \nIf you have any additional questions or would like to know more about this project\, please contact Sarah at sarah@rednoteensemble.com \nPlease note that we are committed to working with and supporting composers from under-represented sections of the population.
