SUMMARY:Residential Weekend with Scottish-based composers
DESCRIPTION:Five composers will have the opportunity to develop works of approximately 5 minutes for oboe and cello over a residential weekend with the support of musicians from Red Note Ensemble and the mentorship of composer Bill Sweeney.\nThe new works will then be performed during the 2019 soundfestival.

SUMMARY:Aeolian at Ultima Festival (Oslo)
DESCRIPTION:Once again we join Norwegian composer Maja S. K. Ratkje\, UK installation artist Kathy Hinde and Danish accordionist Andreas Borregaard for Aeolian\, performing at Ultima Festival in Oslo.\nThis collaboration is a deeply-integrated new work\, combining newly-designed air-powered instruments with live musicians to create a new part-performance\, part kinetic-sculptural work. \nThere will be two performances and after each concert the wind instruments can be experienced as an installation. \nCommissioned by Red Note and produced by hcmf// and Red Note Ensemble.

SUMMARY:Aeolian at Lammermuir Festival
DESCRIPTION:Aeolian\, by Norwegian composer Maja S K Ratkje\, artist Kathy Hinde and Danish accordionist Andreas Borregaard\, combines newly-designed air-powered instruments with live musicians to create a new part performance\, part kinetic-sculptural work. Inspired by the ‘breath’ of the accordion\, Aeolian places Borregaard and his instrument at the centre of the work\, both physically and musically. \nAutonomous air-activated instruments form a sculptural installation whose sound blends with Red Note’s conventional instruments to create an extraordinary sonic experience in an extraordinary building – East Linton’s historic\, beautifully restored\, hexagonal Mart. \nThere will be three performances at 3pm\, 4pm & 5pm
