DESCRIPTION:“The nervous thistle’s shiverin like \nA horse’s skin aneth a cleg\, \nOr Northern Lichts or lustres o \nA soul that Daith has fastened on\, \nOr mornin eftir the night afore. \n  \nShudderin thistle gie owre\, gie owre….” \n  \nCommissioned by MayFest in 1992\, Sweeney’s galloping\, madcap setting is by turns funny and profound\, employing Red Note’s multi-talented musicians\, singers and narrator to sensational effect. \n  \nThe ensemble for this tour is made of 9 players\, including a jazz clarinettist and trombonist\, 4 singers\, and a famously thrawn narrator.
