SUMMARY:Red Note seeks Board members
DESCRIPTION:Red Note Ensemble is Scotland’s contemporary music ensemble\, performing throughout Scotland and internationally. Building on its continued success and expansion\, we are looking for two new Board members. We invite applications from suitably experienced individuals and would particularly welcome those with expertise in social inclusion and (due to one of our long-standing original Board members now standing down) in finance. \nForward-thinking and dynamic\, the company plays a leadership role nationally and internationally in the development of new music and the engagement of new audiences through its busy annual schedule of events\, many of them cross-artform. Our current Board members have expertise and experience at a senior level in marketing\, education\, law and arts management and are enthusiastic supporters of Red Note’s ethos of artistic excellence available to all. \nBoard meetings are held quarterly\, in Glasgow or Edinburgh. In addition\, Board members give occasional informal advice by phone or 1:1 meetings with the executive team. Being on the Red Note Board is a fulfilling and engaging experience\, and Board Members are highly valued for the vital role they fulfil in providing professional guidance and governance for this young\, ambitious and rapidly-developing music company. SUMMARY:Scottish EDGE Awards
DESCRIPTION:The Scottish EDGE Awards are Britain’s biggest business competition and we will be performing at the final on 15 December at RBS Gogarburn\, Edinburgh. \nScottish EDGE\, offers Scotland’s entrepreneurial businesses the chance to pitch for up to £150\,000 in funding and support. We will be performing at the Round Nine Scottish EDGE Final\, following a full day pitching\, and just before the awards are announced. DESCRIPTION:The Spring Gathering is an annual event in Ardfern\, Scotland bringing together promoters from across the Highlands and Islands with performers\, producers\, funders and other creative professionals\, to network\, build key skills and showcase new work. We will be performing Reels to Ragas as part of the event. This is not a public performance. \nThe Touring Network exists to see rural touring be a central\, celebrated and indispensable part of the cultural life of Scotland. DESCRIPTION:Moments in Time and Entangled Fortunes have been extremely well reviewed in the national press and are enjoying significant success. We are thrilled that these Scottish composers are receiving such well-deserved attention and to celebrate\, Red Note are hosting an informal event in the surroundings of the beautiful\, Phoebe Anna Traquair-decorated Song School of St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral\, Edinburgh on Friday 14th August from 2pm – 3pm. \nRed Note Ensemble will perform works from both CDs\, and both John McLeod and Eddie McGuire will be present.
