DESCRIPTION:“New Music: is anybody listening?” \n  \nNew Music Scotland  is a network that brings together performers\, composers\, promoters of new music in Scotland\, to: \n  \n* Create a context for dialogues between practitioners and new work; \n* Share ideas of best practice; \n* Promote the diversity of new music and sound art; \n* Create and maintain a supportive environment for innovation \n  \nThe Conference/Showcase is aimed at all performers\, creators and promoters of music in Scotland\, the UK and beyond that have an interest in new music. New music submitted by composers from around the world responding to our Call for Scores\, and the winner of the night’s 10-minute Composing Challenge will be performed. \n  \nWhat is the 10 Minute Composing Challenge? It’s your chance to write an “instant piece” and get it played on the night. During the interval we will hand out manuscript paper for you to write your own piece in 10 minutes – and at the end of the interval we’ll select the one we think is best and perform it there and then. Instant music! \n
