DESCRIPTION:Inventor Composer Coaction (ICC) is a first-of-its-kind event\, bringing composers from Edinburgh University together with creators of unique digital musical instruments to explore new sounds and new ways of controlling sound. \nOver 30 expert designers from around the world have contributed a variety of instruments\, interfaces and sound generators for the seven resident composers from the University of Edinburgh to work with. These range from 3D-printed spheres that respond to touch\, to software modelled on neurons firing inside a human brain. It’s your chance to write an “instant piece” and get it played on the night. During the interval we will hand out manuscript paper for you to write your own piece in 10 minutes – and at the end of the interval we’ll select the one we think is best and perform it there and then. Instant music!

All sorts of music are welcomed here – as are all sorts of listeners. \n  \nThe instruments for Monday’s Noisy Night will be 3 ‘cellos\, played by Robert Irvine\, Eilidh Martin and Sonia Cromarty – and new music by James Bryce\, Jesse Raccio\, Elisabeth Cowe\, Atzi Muramatsu\, Sandy Stanage\, Michael Szpakowski\, Gareth Brady\, Patrick Smyth\, Ronnie McNiven and Amble Skuse and the winner of the 10 Minute Composing Challenge will be heard for the first time. \n  \nWhat is the 10 Minute Composing Challenge?
