DESCRIPTION:“New Music: is anybody listening?” \n  \nNew Music Scotland  is a network that brings together performers\, composers\, promoters of new music in Scotland\, to: \n  \n* Create a context for dialogues between practitioners and new work; \n* Share ideas of best practice; \n* Promote the diversity of new music and sound art; \n* Create and maintain a supportive environment for innovation \n  \nThe Conference/Showcase is aimed at all performers\, creators and promoters of music in Scotland\, the UK and beyond that have an interest in new music. SUMMARY:Noisy Nights 15 and 16
DESCRIPTION:Noisy Nights is fun\, free and your chance to listen to (and compose for!) some of the best musicians in Scotland. Noisy Nights is a place to meet music-lovers\, curious minds\, musicians\, composers and artists in an informal space where you can hear some of the best examples of brand new music while having a beer. All sorts of music are welcomed here – as are all sorts of listeners. \n  \nRed Note is presenting a special one-off Noisy Night 15 at the sound festival in Banchory on 22nd October to showcase the works created by the Go Compose! course participants. \n  \nWe will also present Noisy Night 16 in the Bar of the Traverse Theatre on 12th December. The ensemble will be violin\, ‘cello and harmonium. \n  \nNoisy Night 16 will include the 10 Minute Composing Challenge – your chance to write an “instant piece” and get it played on the night. During the interval we will hand out manuscript paper for you to write your own piece in 10 minutes – and at the end of the interval we’ll select the one we think is best and perform it there and then.
