DESCRIPTION:Once again we join Norwegian composer Maja S. K. Ratkje\, UK installation artist Kathy Hinde and Danish accordionist Andreas Borregaard for Aeolian. This collaboration is a deeply-integrated new work\, combining newly-designed air-powered instruments with live musicians to create a new part-performance\, part kinetic-sculptural work. \nCommissioned by Red Note and produced by hcmf// and Red Note Ensemble.

SUMMARY:Mark Simpson plays John Adams at Lammermuir Festival
DESCRIPTION:This exciting programme finishes with John Adams’s Gnarly Buttons\, a virtuosic clarinet concerto shot through with influences from hymns to bluegrass and jazz. Before that we hear two of Mark’s own works and Adams’s minimalist classic Shaker Loops.
