SUMMARY:NOISY NIGHTS AT DRYGATE\, GLASGOW – CALL FOR SCORES
DESCRIPTION:The Noisy Nights concert will take place on Wednesday 24th September at Drygate in Glasgow – deadline for submissions: Friday 22nd August\, 5pm. \nNoisy Nights are informal new music nights that provide an outlet to hear emerging new musical ideas and voices. Three Red Note musicians will perform up to 8 short new 5-minute works selected from the open call (details below). \nThe concert will be held at Drygate in Glasgow\, on Wednesday 24th September 19:30.    \n  \nCALL FOR SCORES \nAre you interested in writing a piece of music 3-5min long for Red Note\, Scotland’s contemporary music ensemble? Then this call is for you. \n• Maximum length: 5 minutes \n• Instrumentation: Flute\, Viola and Percussion [Marimba (4.3 octave)\, Large China Cymbal\, Hi-hat\, Woodblock\, Shaker]* \n• Only new works composed for this call will be accepted \n• Deadline: Friday 22nd August (5pm – UK time) \nPlease note the scores should not include electronics or any pre-recorded parts\, and when writing please consider that these concerts are rehearsed in a short time frame. \n(*Note: if you’ve got any questions regarding the percussion list\, please email flore@rednoteensemble.com). \n  \nHOW TO APPLY: Full score and parts in PDF format to be submitted to Dawn Coulshed at admin@rednoteensemble.com by 5pm (UK time) on Friday 22nd August. Please include full name and contact in your submission email and use the subject “Noisy Nights Glasgow – Application”. Late submissions will not be accepted. \nA maximum of 8 pieces will be selected by a panel of musicians and composers from Red Note. Selected composers will be notified by Friday 29th August and the rehearsal and concert will be held on the Wednesday 24th September. \nWe encourage those local to the area to apply. There are limited options to apply for a travel bursary if you are selected and based outside of Glasgow\, and reside within the UK. \nSupport: We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to take part in our call.
