SUMMARY:Brian Eno: MUSIC FOR AIRPORTS LIVE
DESCRIPTION:Red Note with the Bang on a Can All-Stars \nBang on a Can is a major force in the presentation of new concert music\, and has presented hundreds of musical events worldwide. It is best known for its marathon music events during which an eclectic mix of pieces are performed in succession over the course of many hours while audience members\, who are encouraged to maintain a “jeans-and-t-shirt informality\,” are welcome to come and go as they please. For the twentieth anniversary of their Marathon Concerts\, Bang on a Can presented twenty- six hours of uninterrupted music at the World Financial Center Winter Garden Atrium in New York City. \nMusic for Airports was designed to be continuously looped as a sound installation\, with the intent to defuse the tense\, anxious atmosphere of an airport terminal and has enchanted audiences and musicians since its release in 1978. Eno conceived this idea while being stuck at Cologne Bonn Airport in Germany in the mid 70s when he had to spend several hours there and was extremely annoyed by the uninspired sound atmosphere. The Bang on a Can composers made their own arrangement of it for live performance – come chill out in style. \n  \nwww.glasgowconcerthalls.com \n
